Article Summary

This guide explains how to upload, edit, and manage files on your MineRack Minecraft server using the built-in Game Panel File Manager or through SFTP for faster, more stable uploads — including one-click access via the “Launch SFTP” button.

🔹 Overview

Every MineRack server includes two secure ways to manage your Minecraft files:

  1. File Manager (Web-based) – quick and convenient for small edits and uploads

  2. SFTP Access – faster and more reliable for large files, mods, or world folders

You can use either method depending on your needs — both connect directly to your Game Panel server.

🗂️ 1. Accessing the File Manager

The File Manager is built into your Game Panel (Pterodactyl) and allows you to manage files directly from your browser.

🔑 Steps to Access:

  1. Go to panel.minerack.fun

  2. Log in using your Game Panel credentials

  3. Click on your Minecraft server name

  4. Open the File Manager tab from the left sidebar

You’ll now see your entire server directory — including folders like /plugins, /world, and /config.

⚙️ What You Can Do in File Manager

  • 📤 Upload files or folders directly from your browser

  • ✏️ Edit configuration files (server.properties, paper.yml, etc.)

  • 📁 Create, rename, or delete files/folders

  • 📦 Unzip .zip files directly in the panel

  • 🗑️ Clean up unwanted files with one click

💡 Tip: For plugin updates, upload the new .jar file and delete the old version to avoid conflicts.

🚀 2. Uploading Large Files via SFTP

For files over 100 MB (like large worlds or modpacks), use SFTP — a faster, more stable method for file transfer.

🧩 What You’ll Need:

  • A compatible SFTP client such as WinSCP

  • Your Game Panel login password

MineRack makes it easy to connect securely via one click:

  1. In your Game Panel, open your server

  2. On the left sidebar, click “Settings"

  3. Now Click on "Launch SFTP"

  4. A secure SFTP session will automatically open in your system’s file manager or preferred SFTP client

  5. When prompted, enter your Game Panel password.

      6. You’ll now see all your server files — just drag and drop to upload

Quick and Secure: This is the easiest way to connect — no need to manually copy host or port information.

🔌 Option 2: Manual SFTP Connection

If you prefer to connect manually:

  1. In your Game Panel, click “Settings”

  2. Copy the following details:

    • Server Address (Host)

    • Port (usually 2022)

    • Username

  3. Open your SFTP client (e.g., WinSCP)

  4. Enter these details and click Connect

  5. When asked for a password, use your Game Panel password

FolderPurpose
/plugins                     Store all plugin .jar files
/mods                     For Forge/Fabric mod servers
/world                     Your main world data
/backups                     Saved backups
/config                     Plugin and server configuration files

🧠 Pro Tip: Always stop your server before replacing large files or uploading a new world.

🧰 3. Editing and Saving Config Files

You can edit configuration files directly from the File Manager.

✏️ To Edit a File:

  1. Open the file by clicking its name

  2. Make your changes

  3. Click Save Content

  4. Restart the server to apply changes

💡 Always back up your files before making major changes to avoid corruption or data loss.
